Mehrangar Fort - The Crown Jewel of Jodhpur Standing 410 feet above the city, Mehrangarh Fort is one of the largest and most amazing forts in India. Fort is an excellent work of Rajput architecture, built by Rao Jodha, founder of Jodhpur in the 15th century. As you pass through its huge gate and curved routes, you will face beautifully decorated palaces such as Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace) and Phool Mahal (Flower Palace). The museum inside the fort has rare artifacts, paintings, weapons, costumes and royal remains, offering a window into the grandeur of the rulers of Marwar. From the ramparts of the fort, stare at the maze of blue-painted houses Jaswant Thada - The Marble Memorial Jaswant Thada, a short distance from the fort, is an ancient white marble Senotaf built in the memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II in 1899. Known as the "Taj Mahal of Marwar", it has complex marble lattice, delicate carvings and cool gardens that invite you to Lingar. The calm surroundings with fort scenes in the background make it an ideal place for photography and cool reflection.
