Reach Jaipur in the afternoon and take up your hotel to rest.Have dinner at a nearby restaurant and have a taste of the Rajasthani cuisine like dal baati churma or gatte ki sabzi. Spend a night at your Jaipur hotel.
Take a breakfast and begin full day sightseeing tour of Jaipur. First, visit Amber Fort that is located on a hill. Go through its palaces, gardens and courtyards. The Mirror Palace or the Sheesh Mahal is illuminated with tiny glass mosaics on the walls. The children will like having the rides on the elephants here but the jeep ride is also entertaining.The next place to see is Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds. It is honeycombed and has numerous small windows. Then go to the City Palace that still houses the royal family. There will be courtyards, halls, and a museum with the royal clothes and weapons inside.You can stop after lunch at Jantar Mantar which is an observatory constructed by Maharaja Jai Singh. Breakfast and drive away from Jaipur towards Udaipur. The trip will last approximately 6 to 7 hours, but is laden with scenic beauties. You can also have a bite in between towns or take tea. Arrive in Udaipur in the evening and get into the hotel. Take a breather and then take a leisurely boat ride in Lake Pichola. The Lake Palace, Jag Mandir, and the lights of the city reflected on the water can be seen through the boat. It is among the most romantic views in Rajasthan.Then have a stroll in Gangaur Ghat, a quiet lakeside spot where people can sit down in the evening. Dine in a rooftop restaurant with a lake view and spend the night in Udaipur.
Wake up, have some breakfast and visit the grand City Palace of Udaipur. It is a combination of museums, courtyards, and balconies. Lake Pichola and Aravalli hills are visible through the windows of the palace. Children adore the colourful windows and interior paintings.In the old city, the next place to visit is Jagdish Temple, a 17 th -century old temple. Then half a day at Saheliyon ki Bari, the Garden of Maidens. It contains fountains, marble elephants and lotus pools and hence a good relaxing place. Have lunch and then drive to Fateh Sagar Lake, another picturesque lake where you can have a small boat ride or have a walk by water. Back to the hotel to have dinner and spend the night in Udaipur.
Breakfast and then leave the hotel and drive to Chittorgarh and it takes approximately 2 hours. The biggest draw here is the Chittorgarh Fort which is among the largest forts in India.A tower of Victory (Vijay Stambh) inside the fort is tall and is carved. There are also Kirti Stambh (Tower of Fame), ancient palaces and temples within the fort. Read about the gallant tales of Rani Padmini and the warrior tribe of the Rajput who fought this battle.Take an hour or two trip seeing, and lunch in Chittorgarh. Start the day after lunch with the train or a night trip to the capital of the country, taking with you the memories about the forts, lakes, and royal palaces.
