Itinerary

01

DAY 01 - Arrival at Corbett – The Forest Beckons

Overnight stay in Corbett. Reach the Ramnagar Railway Station, you will be met at the station very warmly by the Travel People India team. You will be taken to your resort, which is located on the border of the forest close to Bijrani or Jhirna zone. Spend a little time to cool down and get immerse into the jungle atmosphere. In the evening, take an evening river walk along the Kosi river where you can look across the bank to see deer or a pied kingfisher spear-diving in the river. Prepare a good supper and get into a group introduction around a campfire.

DAY 02 - Into the Wild – Jeep Safari & Temple Visit

You will wake up early and get in your open jeep safari and start exploring the deep trails of the park. Wherever you go, whether it is Bijrani under its sal-dappled tracks, or Jhirna under its open grasslands, or the infamous Dhikala zone (optional upgrade), at every corner there is a surprise, be it a herd of spotted deer, a troop of langurs, a tusker, a tiger on patrol. Following the safari, come back to have breakfast and have some leisure time. In the afternoon visit the Garjiya Devi Temple located in a rock in the middle of the river. Elaine is grateful to the views and silence here. Leisure evening. Relish Kumaoni snacks and tales of the day.

DAY 03 - Birdwatching & Nature Trails

The day belongs to the early mornings and the patient watchers. Go out with a guide in the area to get a view of more than 500 different types of birds, including crested serpent eagles, great hornbills, paradise flycatchers and scarlet minivets. After breakfast, you may rest or take part in optional hike in the buffer zone through waterfall or forest trail. The Corbett Museum is also a great way to get a glimpse of the life history of Corbett who was a hunter-turned-conversationist and is housed in the same bungalow as Corbett used to live. Night activities, such as group games in the evenings or campfire, or light jungle-related music makes this a very pleasant and unforgettable evening.

DAY 04 - Leisure, Optional Safari, or Local Exploration

It is a free day at your own leisure to your group. Book a second jeep safari to another zone, or simply sit in a cafe by the river to write a record of it. To sample some local culture, a tour of the village can be organised, in which you get to mingle with the people of the region and witness some of the age-old farming or weaving methods. This is a golden opportunity that can be utilized by the photography enthusiasts to capture sunset over the canopy of the forest. Your last night in Corbett would require a farewell dinner as well as group photo under the stars.

DAY 05 - Departure – Wild Memories, Tamed Hearts

Have your breakfast and then check out to transfer to the Ramnagar Railway Station to begin your journey further. When you leave the wild behind, carry with you the calling of the birds, the shaking of the leaves and the heart throbbing after following tigers through old trails. This is the end of your tour with Corbett Wildlife and the end of your tour of the wilds, but the wilds will never be out of your memory.
