DAY 01 - Full Day Delhi Street Food

The food tour begins early in the morning with a pick-up by your guide and driver. After a brief orientation your driver and guide will take you to the heart of Old Delhi - Chandni Chowk, which is representative of Delhi street food.You will be welcomed with the aroma of mouth-watering food, spices and sweets while strolling along the small and bustling streets. You will start with a visit to the famous Paranthe Wali Gali and taste different stuffing parathas, served with chutneys and pickles. These are age-old recipes, which are passed from one generation to the other and give you a taste of the traditional North Indian food.Then, you will try some of the popular street food of Delhi, such as golgappa (pani puri), aloo chaat and papdi chaat. These taste great as they have a range of flavours (spicy, sour and sweet). You will also get to taste the delicious jalebis cooked in large kadais - a dessert.This section of the tour has a special visit to Asia's largest spice market - Khari Baoli. Here you will see different types of spices, dry fruits and herbs. The guide will explain how it is used in Indian cooking, and enhances the flavours of Delhi street food.After Old Delhi, it's time for a different Delhi, New Delhi. Here you will see wide roads, colonial buildings and markets. And at Connaught Place, you can taste traditional and contemporary street food. You can taste chole bhature, raj kachori and street sandwiches, some of the favourites of the locals and tourists.Then, we will head towards Karol Bagh, a market for shopping and food. There, you can find some of the local restaurants that serve some of the favourite snacks and sweets of Delhiites. You can also get a taste of the city - its culture and lifestyle - in a low key setting.Then, you head for Majnu ka Tilla which is an off-beat and quiet locale. Here, you can savour the taste of Tibetan food. You can taste the delicious momos, thukpa (noodle soup) and other Tibetan/ North-Eastern food. It's a quiet place, with lots of cafes. You can also explore the city in the evening, try out some small shops or have a nap in a cafe. We'll also take you to a place of your choice in Delhi.
