Itinerary
DAY 01 - Arrival in Delhi and Hometown Tour.
You get in the capital city of India, Delhi. The airport represents the point where you will be met by a Travel people India representative who will then take you to the hotel where you will be staying, the Oberoi, New Delhi. It is one of the best hotels in the world that has large rooms, fine dining and overviews of Del Golf Club and Humayun Tomb. Once you have had a snack or two, begin with your tour of Old Delhi. Go to the Red Fort which is a red sand stone fort constructed by Emperor Shah Jahan. Enter through its gates and halls in which kings were dwelling. Next stop Jama Masjid which is the largest mosque in India. Go up its steps and see the congested markets overhead. Then, take a ride in a rickshaw in Chandni Chowk which is the oldest market in Delhi. Small stores offer spices, candies and colorful apparel. Children will be delighted to taste the jalebi or the chaat in the street stalls. In the evening, pass India gate which is a war memorial that is also beautiful with lights and fountain. Back to The Oberoi, New Delhi to stay and have dinner.
DAY 02 - New Delhi Sightseeing and a Minar which is the tallest brick minaret in the world. Then go to Humayuns Tomb that inspired the design of Taj Mahal.
Then visit the Lotus Temple, which is a white lotus flower. It is a very quiet place because of the silence within. Pass by President House, Parliament house and the Rajpath which is the wide avenue where the republic day parade is held. After lunch, drive to Agra. Once there, stay at The Oberoi Amarvilas, a hotel, which provides a direct Taj Mahal view in all the rooms. It is like drinking tea on your balcony and gazing at the white marble miracle! You can spend your evening in the Oberoi gardens or swimming pool. Dinner and an overnight stay in Oberoi Amarvilas, Agra.
DAY 03 - Taj Mahal and Agra Fort- Drive to Jaipur
Rise early in the morning in order to see the best part of your tour the Taj Mahal in the sunrise. The white marble monument shines with pink and golden color when the sun has risen. Visit its gardens and make some photos next to the reflecting pool. The Taj Mahal is a structure constructed by Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal and is a symbol of love that every visitor admires. Break at the Oberoi, and then see the Agra Fort. This fort is made of red sandstone that has beautiful palaces, mosques and courtyards. The Taj Mahal on the other side of the river is even visible in some parts of the fort. Once you have had lunch, start your journey to Jaipur, the Pink City of Rajasthan. On the road you can visit Fatehpur Sikri, the former capital of the Mughal Empire, where all the palaces and gateways of the city can be seen. Reach Jaipur in the evening and get into The Oberoi Rajvilas, a luxury resort that is constructed like a royal Rajasthani palace with gardens, fountains and courtyards. DAY 04 - Jaipur Sightseeing
Breakfast at the Oberoi, and then to the Amber fort, which is on a hill. Get to the entrance of the fort using a jeep or an elephant. You have large palaces, halls of mirrors and courtyards inside. The decorated elephants and large fort walls should please children. Then visit the City Palace which remains in part to be inhabited by the royal family of Jaipur. It contains an old weapons and painting museum and royal costumes. Adjacent to it is the Jantar Mantar, which is an observatory that has astronomical instruments that are huge to observe stars and planets. Afternoon Pay a visit to the Hawa Mahal, also known as the Palace of Winds, which has 953 small windows. It was behind these windows that royal ladies used to look out on the city. Use up the remainder of the day to shop in Jaipur in the colorful markets where you can purchase bangles, textiles and handicrafts. Dine and stay at The Oberoi Rajvilas.
DAY 05 - Jaipur- Delhi Departure.
Break a slow breakfast at your Oberoi hotel. Return to Delhi then. During the journey, it is pleasant to see villages, farms, and small towns. On arriving in Delhi you could either do last minute shopping of some souvenirs or have some rest at a cafe before boarding the plane.
