Itinerary

01

DAY 01 - Haridwar to Guptkashi – Through Sacred River Valleys

Your spiritual trip starts with your departure by leaving the sacred town of Haridwar and the Ganges flowing through it with the old chants of the air. As you head out to Guptkashi ( aprx 210 km/ 8-9 hours ) the road winds along the meandering course of the Ganga and Alaknanda Rivers, providing peaceful views of tiered countryside and the blue expanse of sky. On the way you will be driven through Rudraprayag- Holy Meeting Place of Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. You arrive at Guptkashi which is a peaceful town by the late evening and its major attractions are Ardhnarishwar Temple and its quiet mountain sceneries. Get comfortable in your hotel and spend the evening gazing at the star dipped sky, and enjoying the serenity of Himalayas themselves shroud you with tranquility.

DAY 02 - Guptkashi to Kedarnath – Spiritual Trekking Experience

In the early morning, proceed to Sonprayag, where your spiritual ascent to Kedarnath will never start. You may use a pony, a doli or a helicopter (weather and booking conditions depend on). The journey (est. 16 km) is an event in itself, to the tune of chants of Har Har Mahadev, the view changes with waterfalls, pine trees, and majestic mountains. When you arrive at Kedarnath, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, you feel a lot of divine power engulf you. Aarti in the evening and stay in a plain lodge close to the temple, and find spiritual ecstasy under the silhouette of snow covered peaks.

DAY 03 - Kedarnath to Guptkashi – Return with Divine Blessings

Following the morning darshan at Kedarnath Temple, spend some silent time to feel the overwhelming energy of this holy place. You start again the way down to Sonprayag, following the tracks across the misty paths and river plains. You will be induced back to Guptkashi at the base. The ride down the hill is less heavy and is full of contentment, almost like the divine has accompanied you. Once you arrive, get checked-in at your hotel, rest, and take stock of the spiritual developments thus far accompanied by the serenity and freshness of the mountains and the pine-scented air of Howard County.

DAY 04 - Guptkashi to Badrinath – En Route to Vishnu’s Abode

The next stop in the Himalayas unearths you to Badrinath, another pilgrimage point, today. Riding between picturesque hills you will get riverside towns and mountain ridges and you will be soaking the energy of Garhwal ranges. Tapt Kund is the natural hot spring pilgrims clean up before darshan at the temple. Visit Tapt Kund as soon as you arrive in Badrinath. Then visit the sacred Badrinath Temple of Lord Vishnu later. Go to the mesmerizing evening aarti as the glowing oil lamps surround you along with the awe-inspiring view of the Neelkanth Peak. With your soul filled with the glory of God, and the tunes of a hymn fresh in your mind, retire to your hotel.

DAY 05 - Badrinath to Rudraprayag – Last Village & Riverside Serenity

At Badrinath Temple, perform morning darshan after taking a revitalizing dip at Tapt Kund. Then proceed to Mana village, which is the last Indian border village before the Indo-Tibetan border. Explore the Bhim Pul, wander along damaged roads, and see the Vyas Gufa, the site where Ved Vyas is credited with writing the Mahabharata. Then, drive on to Rudraprayag (about 160 km / 6-7 hours), another holy town of the confluence of rivers Mandakini and Alaknanda. Set up camp in your riverside lodging and have the noise of flowing rivers lull you to sleep so that you are rejuvenated to restart your journey; the last of your pilgrimage.

DAY 06 - Rudraprayag to Haridwar – Back to the Land of the Ganges

Your Do Dham pilgrimage is now drawing to a close, so you now start the journey back to Haridwar (approx. 160 km / 6-7 hrs). The path is overrun with warm scenes of rivers, mountains, and spiritual power. Remember the days that you had spent in these last few days of the trek to Kedarnath, the darshan at Badrinath, the peace at Mana and Rudraprayag. Reach Haridwar in the evening, you can opt to attend the Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri to make a spiritual end to your pilgrimage.
