Welcome to India! When you land at Delhi International Airport, one of our representatives will welcome you and move you to your hotel. When you return from the tour, you have the option of walking around nearby or heading to local markets. Delhi combines contemporary and classic styles and will give you entry to the Golden Triangle.
Right after breakfast, the next step is to go on a walking tour of the old part of Delhi. Explore Jama Masjid, enjoy the crowded streets on a rickshaw ride and pass Red Fort during your visit to the city. After that, make your way to New Delhi and look at India Gate, Parliament House, the President’s House and the amazing Lotus Temple. Finish your day with a visit to Qutub Minar which is recognised by UNESCO. Eat dinner and spend the night at your hotel for a 4-star experience.
After having breakfast, return the car and go to Agra. On arrival, check in at your hotel. Later in the day, head to Agra Fort which was originally the home of the Mughal emperors and has been recognised by UNESCO. Later, you can explore the local marble markets. In the evening, enjoy a calm perspective of the Taj Mahal when the sky turns red at sunset.
If possible, get up at sunrise, as viewing the Taj Mahal then is absolutely enchanting. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Later, visit the Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah (also known as Baby Taj). The rest of your time can be used for leisure or sightseeing at more local stores and bakeries. Overnight in Agra.
After breakfast, get all your belongings and make your way to Jaipur, the Pink City. When you travel, stop in Fatehpur Sikri, where you will see fantastic red sandstone architecture in a deserted city. Continue the drive to Jaipur. On arrival, check in to your hotel. Spend your night by strolling through the vibrant markets in the city. Overnight stay in Jaipur.
After eating breakfast, go to Amber Fort and enjoy riding an elephant or jeep up to the top. Explore the fort's beautiful palaces, courtyards, and temples. Another stop should be at the City Palace which continues to house the royal family of Jaipur. Continue to Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory, and stop by the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) for photos. Travel People India will arrange for a dinner where you will have the chance to watch Rajasthani folk dance.
Once you have eaten, start discovering the local traditions in Jaipur. Visit artisans' workshops to see how Jaipur’s famous block printing, blue pottery, and jewelry are made. The Albert Hall Museum is worth exploring and you might also like to try a short camel ride just beyond the city’s limits. After sunset, go exploring the busy shopping areas for souvenirs. Overnight in Jaipur.
This is the highlight of your tour. Directly after breakfast, the team at Travel People India will take you on a local tour celebrating Diwali. Visit local homes, learn about Diwali traditions, help make rangoli (colorful patterns), light diyas (oil lamps), and taste delicious sweets. When the sun starts to set, all of the city is filled with lights and fireworks. We will set up a celebration at a local family’s house and you’ll wear traditional clothes and join in the Diwali festivities. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
After you eat breakfast, exit the hotel and make your way back to Delhi. Check in at your hotel when you arrive. You may want to spend your time enjoying a leisurely meal near by or checking out the nearby markets. Spend the night in Delhi.
