DAY 01 - Arrival in Delhi – Mughal Architectural Heritage

The Delhi Architecture Tour will start with a pick-up at Delhi airport, railway station, or hotel. Once you have checked in, begin your architectural tour with Mughal-era monuments.Tour the Humayun Tomb, a UNESCO World Heritage and a masterpiece of the Persian-style garden tomb construction. Then visit the Tomb of Isa Khan and the adjacent historic buildings. Afternoon: Visit the grand Red Fort, with its huge walls of red sandstone, and its Mughal architecture.Spend free time or visit the sound and light show at Red Fort (Optional) in the evening.

DAY 02 - Sultanate Architecture – Qutub Complex & Stepwells

  Post breakfast, go sightseeing in Delhi Sultanate architecture. See the Qutub Minar Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage site with Qutub Minar, Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque and ancient ruins of early Islamic architecture in India.Then, you can go to Agrasen ki Baoli, an ancient step well that shows high water management skills and stone carving. Go on to Hauz Khas Complex, where you will find a mixture of Islamic architecture and urban planning around a medieval reservoir. Overnight Stay: Delhi

DAY 03 - Old Delhi – Religious & Urban Architecture

  Post-breakfast, visit Old Delhi, which is full of architecture. Go to Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India, with its large courtyard and marble domes. Take a rickshaw ride to Chandni Chowk, where one can see the old havelis and traditional market architecture. Afterwards, go to Raj Ghad, which is an architecturally symbolic design. Explore Purana Qila, the early Mughal and Afghan architecture in the afternoon.Overnight Stay: Delhi

DAY 04 - Colonial & Modern Delhi Architecture

  Following breakfast, visit the architecture of the colonial era in New Delhi. See India gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan and Parliament house, which demonstrates British imperial planning and wide avenues, which were created by Edwin Lutyens. Then visit the contemporary architectural marvels of the Lotus Temple, which is shaped like a flower using concrete and Akshardham Temple, a contemporary architectural wonder constructed using the traditional carving of stone.Overnight Stay: Delhi

DAY 05 - Contemporary Design & Departure

Breakfast, visit National Museum (optional) to learn the development of architecture through exhibits. Further on, visit Connaught Place, a model of colonial city planning that is circular.Spend free time either taking photographs or shopping or visiting popular locations. After that, you will be taken to the Delhi airport, the railway station or the place of your choice of drop, and that will be the end of the Delhi Architecture Tour.
