Itinerary
DAY 01 - Welcome Delhi
Begin your trip of the Golden triangle in Delhi. Park up in the Taj Hotel and have a rest after the trip. Start the tour with Red Fort, a huge red sandstone fort constructed by Shah Jahan, after taking a rest. Go through the gates, look at the halls, and have the broad courtyards. Next is a visit to Jama Masjid, where one of the biggest mosques of India is. Take the steps and have a view of the busy streets of Old Delhi. Then visit Chandni Chowk, a popular market, consisting of colourful shops and fine street food. Eat local delicacies such as chaat, samosas and jalebi. During the evening, go to India Gate which is a war memorial with beautiful lawns and fountains. Read newspapers, take pictures in the tranquil atmosphere. Go back to your Taj Hotel, eat dinner and then sleep in Delhi.
DAY 02 - Explore New Delhi
Breakfast at the hotel, then visit Qutub Minar which is the tallest tower in India entirely made of bricks with beautiful carvings. Then visit Humayun tomb, Mughal garden tomb that is beautifully constructed and has some serene gardens. Then come to the Lotus Temple, in the shape of a lotus flower. Take time to have a peaceful time and take photographs. Visit the Rashtrapati Bhavan, parliament house and the official governmental place after lunch. Then, have a relaxing stint in Lodhi Garden which is a park comprising of tombs, greenery, and walking paths. Here children may play and feed birds. Go back to the Taj Hotel, dine and spend the night at Delhi.
DAY 03 - Drive to Agra
Breakfast, and then drive out of Delhi to Agra. Check in Taj Hotel Agra, begin sightseeing with Taj Mahal, the monument of the world format which is constructed by Shah Jahan on his wife Mumtaz Mahal using white marble. Make beautiful shots and admire the surrounding gardens. The second place to see is Agra fort which is a large red sandstone fort with incredible architecture and history. After lunch visit Mehtab Bagh, the garden on the other side of river Yamuna, which has breathtaking scenery of the Taj Mahal at sunset. In the evening, have fun in your hotel, indulge in the luxuries, dinner and sleep.
DAY 04 - Jaipur Sightseeing
Eat breakfast at the hotel and go to Jaipur, the pink city of India. Register in Taj Hotel Jaipur and bathe. Begin the urban tour with Amber Fort which is situated on a hill. Take the elephant ride or jeep ride to the fort and visit the halls, courtyards and gardens in the fort. See the Sheesh Mahal which is the mirror palace within the Amber Fort. Post lunch visit City Palace which is a royal palace comprising of museums and courtyards exhibiting the history of Jaipur. The other place of interest is Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory. During evening, visit Hawa Mahal, the palace of winds which has numerous tiny windows and walk around local markets to buy souvenirs. Go back to Taj Hotel Jaipur, eat and have a relaxing evening.
DAY 05 - Return to Delhi & Shopping
Get out of Jaipur after the breakfast and take the drive back to Delhi. Come according to what time you leave, visit Dilli Haat which is a handicraft market of the entire India. Purchase souvenirs such as paintings, jewellery, fabrics and other small crafts. Eat local dishes such as momos, pakoras and sweets. Assuming that there is time, take a look at the Garden of Five Senses that is a serene garden that has sculptures, flowers and paths to walk on. Take some time and rest, take pictures and have fun in the nature. Then have the departure out of Delhi to your further journey home or to your next destination.
