Itinerary

DAY 01 - Arrive at Leh

You will arrive at Leh airport and upon being welcomed by the representative, will transfer to your hotel. With high altitude, it's important to take a rest. Rest and relax the whole day. Walk leisurely around the market to get a glimpse of Ladakhi culture. Stay overnight at Leh.

DAY 02 - Leh sightseeing and getting ready for Losar

After breakfast, you can continue sightseeing with the Summer palace of Ladakhi kings, Shey Palace. Then, visit Thiksey Monastery, which has a big Buddha statue and excellent architecture.Call at the markets where people are getting ready for the Losar Festival, with their houses decorated, special food being prepared and people in their traditional costumes. Free evening at leisure. Stay overnight at Leh.

DAY 03 - Losar Festival in Monasteries

It's the highlight of the tour. See the Losar Festival at monasteries, such as Hemis Monastery. Watch the colourful masked dances (Cham dance), songs and rituals.The fest is a happy, religious and cultural affair. Visitors can also interact with locals and know about the festival. Stay at Leh.

DAY 04 - Leh - Nubra Valley via Khardung La

Have breakfast and drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass (highest motorable pass in the world). This offers spectacular views of snow capped mountains and valleys.On reaching, visit sand dunes and ride on two hump Bactrian camels. Nubra Valley is a desert valley surrounded by mountains. Stay at night in Nubra Valley.

DAY 05 - Nubra Valley - Pangong Lake

Visit the magical blue coloured Pangong Lake. The drive is beautiful, with isolated villages and mountains in the backdrop.You can walk around the lake, and feel calm. Pangong is more beautiful in winter. Back at Pangong for night stay.

DAY 06 - Pangong - Leh

Have breakfast and drive back to Leh. Enjoy the beauty of nature and take pics. You can shop for souvenirs, woolens and artefacts in Leh market. In the evening, relax and savour your cultural, natural and adventurous journey. Stay at Leh.

DAY 07 - Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Leh airport for a flight back home. The Losar Festival Ladakh Tour concludes with a lifetime of memories of the vibrant festivals, serene atmosphere and a cultural experience.
