Itinerary
DAY 01 - Arrival in Nawalgarh – Gateway to Shekhawati
Arrive at Nawalgarh, a heritage town in the Shekhawati region. A representative from Travel People India will assist with your hotel transfer. Visit the intricately painted Poddar Haveli Museum, Morarka Haveli, and vibrant local streets. Savor a traditional Rajasthani thali at a haveli-style dinner. Overnight stay in Nawalgarh.
DAY 02 - Nawalgarh to Mandawa – Living Frescoes
Breakfast, then proceed to Mandawa, a village renowned for its hand-painted mansions. Walk through the Mandawa Fort, Goenka Haveli, and Sneh Ram Ladia Haveli. You may also observe artists continuing to work on fresco restoration. Optional camel cart ride around the village. Overnight stay in Mandawa.
DAY 03 - Mandawa to Khimsar – Desert Tranquility
Breakfast, then drive to Khimsar, situated on the outskirts of the Thar Desert. Stay in a heritage fort-hotel and rest. Afterwards, go on a jeep ride to the Khimsar Sand Dunes Village, a remote desert village set within open sands and serene huts. See out the sunset and have dinner from a bonfire. Overnight stay in Khimsar.
DAY 04 - Khimsar to Chandelao – Artisans & Heritage
Travel to Chandelao, less-known gem by Jodhpur. Rest at Chandelao Garh, a heritage mansion managed by relatives of former local nobles. Stop by the village craft centre where women produce embroidery and block prints. You can join them in workshops. Village walk in the evening and interaction with the farmers and artisans. Overnight at Chandelao.
DAY 05 - Chandelao to Bishnoi Village – Eco Living
Drive to Bishnoi Village, renowned for its eco-friendly tribal community and wildlife conservation. Take a jeep safari through villages to observe antelopes, migratory birds, and the commitment of Bishnoi community towards nature. Visit a potter's house, weaver's hut, and opium ceremony (a local tradition, culturally symbolic). Stay overnight in a rural eco-resort in close proximity to Bishnoi area.
DAY 06 - Bishnoi to Jawai – The Leopard's Den
Post-breakfast drive to Jawai, an offbeat place where wildlife and rural loveliness exist in harmony. Check-in to a deluxe tent or nature lodge. Take a leopard safari in the hills of granite after lunch, with leopards roaming freely over temples and granite caves. Scavenge around for crocodiles and water birds around Jawai Dam. Bonfire eve with folk storytelling. Overnight stay at Jawai.
DAY 07 - Jawai to Ranakpur – Temple & Village Calm
Depart to Ranakpur, famous for its peaceful temples and wooded land. Visit the Ranakpur Jain Temples, with their beautiful marble pillars. Then go on to Ghanerao, a picturesque local village with tranquil rural walks, horse riding, and fort views. Visit local houses and schools to meet villagers and experience pastoral life. Overnight at Ghanerao or Ranakpur.
DAY 08 - Departure from Ranakpur / Udaipur
