Itinerary

01

DAY 01 - Udaipur Arrival and Sight Seeing

Enter Udaipur and go to the hotel. Take a short rest before visiting City Palace, which is an attractive place on the lake Pichola. Explore its courtyards, balconies and museum rooms to get acquainted with the royal life. The lake and Aravalli hills have a magnificent view in the palace.   Then move to Jagdish Temple which is an ancient temple of Lord Vishnu and is characterized by carved pillars and marble steps. It is a major tourist attraction site in the city.   Then have a boat ride on the lake of Pichola. During your time on water, you will observe Jag Mandir and Lake Palace that are spectacular during the evening light. This happens to be one of the best experiences of Udaipur.   In the evening, have some rest in Saheliyon Ki Bari, which was a royal garden of the queens and princesses. It possesses green lawns, lotus ponds and fountains. You can also visit Bagore Ki Haveli to see puppet shows or folk dances in case you have the time. Then return to your hotel and spend the night at Udaipur.

DAY 02 - Udaipur to Jodhpur Drive

Breakfast, then drive to Jodhpur (56 hours). Passing by, visit Ranakpur Jain Temple which is a beautiful white marble temple with 1,444 carved and polished pillars. It is quiet and a pleasant rest on the journey.   Reach Jodhpur in the evening and get into your hotel. Once you rest, go through Sardar Market. There will be colored attire, jewels, spices, and wood-works. Good to taste Jodhpur is with local snacks such as mirchi vada or makhaniya lassi. Have dinner and spend the night at Jodhpur.

DAY 03 - Jodhpur Sightseeing

Visit the Mehrangarh fort, which is one of the largest forts in India after breakfast. Stroll in its palaces, their courts, and museums with royal weapons, pictures, and costumes. The perspective of the fort walls towards the Blue City is astonishing.   The second thing to visit is the Jaswant Thada, a king memorial constructed of white marble. It is surrounded by a small lake and gardens. The marble reflects well in the sunshine.   Post lunch, visit Umaid Bhawan Palace which is a partly royal residence and partly a museum. The museum shows outdated cars, clocks and photos of the royalties.  During evening, have dinner and indulge in taste testing at Clock Tower Market. It has spice stores and candy booths that locals and visitors like. Dinner and stay another night at Jodhpur.

DAY 04 - Jodhpur -Jaisalmer Drive.

Breakfast and then drive to Jaisalmer (56 hours). The highway passes through deserted areas, villages of people, and camel and goat herds. You will see rural Rajasthan.   In the afternoon, reach Jaisalmer and get yourself checked in at the hotel. Then take a break and the Gadisar Lake which is an artificial lake that was constructed several years ago. There are steps, temples and shrines around it. Boating or sitting on the steps and watching birds.  Stroll in the Jaisalmer Fort in the evening in the narrow streets. It is a glittering golden evening light on the fort and it is spellbinding. Go back to the hotel, have dinner and spend the night in Jaisalmer.

DAY 05 - Jaisalmer Fort and Desert Camp.

In the morning visit Jaisalmer Fort otherwise called Sonar Quila (Golden Fort). It is among the very few forts where man is still living. Visit Patwon Ki Haveli and Nathmal Ki Haveli that are ancient houses with exquisite carvings. There are Jain temples and handicrafts, silver jewelry, and puppets to be found in the fort.   Visit Sam Sand Dunes, a trip of approximately 40km, in the afternoon. You will be able to ride a camel or have a jeep safari in the golden desert. The last day of the sun behind the dunes is not to be forgotten.  Evening socializing at the desert camp. Observe folk dancing, puppet shows and domestic music. The dinner is served as Indian Rajasthani under the sky. Overnight at the camp or go back to the hotel in Jaisalmer.

DAY 06 - Local Market Exploration

On the final day, do breakfast at the hotel. Since the city is part of the UAE, you can also visit the local markets to purchase camel leather products, embroidered fabrics as well as small decoration pieces as a souvenir depending on your plans of travel.   Continue after that to your next destination Jaisalmer railway station or airport. The end of your tour with Travel People India is filled with pleasant memories of the lakes at Udaipur, the forts of Jodhpur as well as the desert at Jaisalmer.
