Breakfast, then drive to Jodhpur (56 hours). Passing by, visit Ranakpur Jain Temple which is a beautiful white marble temple with 1,444 carved and polished pillars. It is quiet and a pleasant rest on the journey. Reach Jodhpur in the evening and get into your hotel. Once you rest, go through Sardar Market. Visit the Mehrangarh fort, which is one of the largest forts in India after breakfast. Stroll in its palaces, their courts, and museums with royal weapons, pictures, and costumes. The perspective of the fort walls towards the Blue City is astonishing. The second thing to visit is the Jaswant Thada, a king memorial constructed of white marble. It is surrounded by a small lake and gardens. The marble reflects well in the sunshine. Post lunch, visit Umaid Bhawan Palace which is a partly royal residence and partly a museum. The museum shows outdated cars, clocks and photos of the royalties. During evening, have dinner and indulge in taste testing at Clock Tower Market. Breakfast and then drive to Jaisalmer (56 hours). The highway passes through deserted areas, villages of people, and camel and goat herds. You will see rural Rajasthan. In the afternoon, reach Jaisalmer and get yourself checked in at the hotel. Then take a break and the Gadisar Lake which is an artificial lake that was constructed several years ago. There are steps, temples and shrines around it. Boating or sitting on the steps and watching birds. Stroll in the Jaisalmer Fort in the evening in the narrow streets. It is a glittering golden evening light on the fort and it is spellbinding. Go back to the hotel, have dinner and spend the night in Jaisalmer.
In the morning visit Jaisalmer Fort otherwise called Sonar Quila (Golden Fort). It is among the very few forts where man is still living. Visit Patwon Ki Haveli and Nathmal Ki Haveli that are ancient houses with exquisite carvings. There are Jain temples and handicrafts, silver jewelry, and puppets to be found in the fort. Visit Sam Sand Dunes, a trip of approximately 40km, in the afternoon. You will be able to ride a camel or have a jeep safari in the golden desert.
