The first stage will be in Udaipur, the City of Lakes and its palaces and gardens. Then, you will visit the only hill station in Rajasthan, Mount Abu, where you can boat and have sunsets. Lastly, you are going to Chittorgarh, which is renowned with heroic Rajput, its expansive fort, and ancient legends.

Itinerary

01

DAY 01 - Arrival and Sightseeing of Udaipur- Lakes and Palaces

You come to Udaipur and get your hotel. You then take a shower and sightsee around the city. The first thing is visiting the City Palace. Go through its halls, courts and balconies. A museum is located indoors and exhibits royal weapons, paintings and furniture. Children play with the colored glass windows and the lake Pichola which they can see through the balconies.   Then have a boat ride on Lake Pichola. Highlight is the serene water that is surrounded by hills and palaces. In the center of the lake, there is also Jag Mandir Island Palace.   Then visit Saheliyon Ki Bari which is a royal garden used by queens. Its marble elephants, fountains, and flower beds render it a soothing walking and place where one can take pictures.   Cultural shows, including puppet shows, folk dances and Rajasthani music, take place in the evening in Bagore Ki Haveli. Spend the night in your hotel in Udaipur after dinner.

DAY 02 - Day Udaipur Sightseeing: Temples and Views

Then breakfast, and proceed with the exploration. Begin with Jagdish Temple, which is a 17 th century temple of Lord Vishnu. It has a high spire and intricate cuttings which are awe-inspiring. Individuals go to seek prayers and good spirit.   Next go to Fateh Sagar Lake which is a huge artificial lake in the hills. You may take a little boat, feed pigeons, or take a rest by the water. A small children park is also present.   Then visit Sajjangarh Palace (Monsoon Palace), and it is on a hill. It is constructed to observe monsoon clouds and provides great views of the lakes and mountains, hence it is great in photography and to see the sunset.   Visit the Vintage Car Museum after lunch that exhibits royal cars that Maharajas used such as Rolls Royce, Cadillac and other vintage cars. It is entertaining both to kids and adults.   Spend the night at Hathi Pol Bazaar, a vibrant market place whereby you can purchase miniature paintings, handicraft and Haryanvi clothes. Back to the hotel in Udaipur to have dinner and stay.

DAY 03 - Udaipur to Mount Abu -Hill Station Relax.

Right after breakfast, drive to Mount Abu (average of 3-4 hours). Upon arrival, arrive at your hotel and sleep. Mount Abu does not resemble the desert cities of Rajasthan. It is pleasant, cold, and serene, with waterfalls and trees.   Begin the sightseeing with the Dilwara Jain Temples known by carvings in white marbles. Painting on ceilings and pillars is so delicate that it is impossible to get through certain designs with a needle. The temples are quiet and an excellent study place on history and arts.   Then, later on, visit Nakki Lake, the capital of Mount Abu. You may go boating, fish feeding, walk in the garden and have local snacks. It is a fun but relaxing place for families and the kids.   During the night, visit Sunset Point, where people can have an excellent view of the sunset in the background of the Aravali hills. The sky changes to orange and red, which leaves a lasting impression. Overnight and dinner in Mount Abu.

DAY 04 - Chittorgarh Day 4: Mount Abu to Chittorgarh Fort and History.

Breakfast, and drive to Chittorgarh (some 56 hours). Then, upon arrival, register in your hotel and sleep. Then visit the Chittorgarh Fort known as one of the largest and UNESCO world heritage sites in India.   Then go to the Kirti Stambh (Tower of Fame), which is the monument of Jain saints. It is designed in a unique way that is admirable. Continue walking to view Rani Padmini Palace which is enclosed by water. The palace is also connected to the beauty and the story of bravery of Queen Padmini.   There is a Rajput warrior spirit and sacrifice that you get to know as you pass through the fort. However at dusk in the evening, visit the Light and Sound show (where applicable) at the fort which makes historical explanations through lights. Dinner and stay over at Chittorgarh.

DAY 05 - Chittorgarh to Udaipur -Memories to Take Home.

Visit the rest of the sights within the fort after breakfast like the Kalika Mata Temple or mini palaces that you might have not had a chance to see the day before. Every part of it narrates courage, fidelity and pride.   Later, drive back to Udaipur. On arrival, take time to shop on the souvenirs, such as silver jewellery, Rajasthani clothes, wooden crafts, miniature paintings etc.   Lastly, head to the airport or railway station and head on. This is the end of your Udaipur -Mount Abu -Chittorgarh tour. Home brings you the memories of lakes, palaces, hills and forts which will remain with you indefinitely.
